BEIJING, Jan 10 (PRIME) -- Russia is in negotiations to start exports of new categories of agricultural products to China, including expansion of wheat exports from the whole territory of the country, Trade Representative Alexei Dakhnovsky told PRIME in an interview released Monday.
"Serious advancements occurred in this sphere in the last three years. China opened access to many items -- beef and offal, milk, including dry milk, whey, barley,” Dakhnovsky said.
“We are at a final stage of negotiations on wheat and barley from the whole territory of Russia, on peas, feed, including alfalfa, and antlers of young stag."
Currently, China allows only wheat and barley exports from the east of Russia.
Dakhnovsky added that Russian chemicals and fertilizers contribute greatly to the increase of trade turnover with China.
The trade volume between the countries hit a record in 2021 and can rise even further in 2022, Dakhnovsky also said without disclosing the estimates.
According to the Chinese customs, trade expanded by 33.6% to U.S. $130.428 billion in January–November.
